Shimmer Art TM

Ranna Lachlan's work is contemporary Queensland art which, according to one ARTnews writer, "explores the profound while serving as a portal to beauty". Noticed as a young artist, Ranna® has been featured at premier Queensland galleries like the Institute of Modern Art and the University of Queensland Art Museum. Reaching beyond the shores of Queensland, Ranna® has also exhibited in Japan, the USA, and Europe. One of Ranna's Veil pieces (Veil I/ Under the Skin), exhibited in Brisbane, Qld; Washington D.C.; and Winchester, USA, using her signature Shimmer Art™ technique.
Originally trained at the Queensland College of Art in the early 1970s, and augmenting her training during subsequent years at art and post graduate institutes in Queensland and overseas, Ranna's work is infused with brilliant, shimmering light. Although influenced by long sojourns in India and residence in Japan inspiring her to work with the physics of light on the surfaces of her work, the intense light of Queensland also seems to vibrate off the surfaces of Ranna's work in her signature "Shimmer Art"™ method, which she developed while living and creating in Queensland.

During her time in the United States, she has formed Ranna® Arts Incorporated (LLC) and obtained the international trademark, "Ranna®" for her artwork, now incontestable.
